1. Who we are
beezy.studio provides booking, calendar, client-record and payments software for independent hair and beauty salons ("the Service"). This policy explains what personal information we collect through the Service and this website, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We're based in New Zealand and handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020.
2. Information we collect
Account information such as your name, salon name, email address and phone number when you sign up. Client records, being the names, contact details and appointment history you enter into the Service to run your business. Usage information, being the pages you visit and actions you take, so we can fix bugs and improve the product. Billing information, handled by our payment processor for your monthly subscription; we don't store full card details ourselves.
3. Client data you upload
When you add your clients' details to beezy.studio, you're acting as the data controller for that information and we act as your processor, storing and processing it only to provide the Service to you. It stays yours: export it at any time, and it's deleted from our systems within 30 days of you closing your account.
4. How we use information
To provide and maintain the Service, to communicate with you about your account, to improve the product, and to meet our legal obligations.
5. Where your data is held
All data is hosted in New Zealand, on AWS's Auckland region, and is handled under the Privacy Act 2020. We don't transfer client data offshore.
6. Who we share it with
We share information only with the subprocessors needed to run the Service, such as our hosting provider and payment processor for subscription billing, each bound by their own data protection obligations. We don't sell your data, or your clients' data, to anyone.
7. Payments
beezy.studio doesn't process payments for your salon's services. You take payment from your clients however you already do (EFTPOS, cash, bank transfer) and mark the appointment paid in the Service. Your monthly subscription fee to beezy.studio is billed separately, through our payment processor.
8. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020, you can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To do this, or if you have questions about this policy, email hello@beezy.studio.
9. Cookies
This website uses only the cookies necessary to make it work. We don't currently run third-party analytics or advertising trackers. If that changes, we'll update this policy first.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, and access controls limiting who can see your data.
11. Changes to this policy
We'll post updates here and, for material changes, let you know by email.
